SCAHACC’s O’Neill Deemed One of the “Best of the Best”

Association member Kevin O’Neill from O’Neill Bagwell Cooling and Heating from Myrtle Beach was one of seven finalists to compete in the final round of the fifth annual North American Technican Excellence (NATE) Certified Technician Competition, held during HVAC Comfortech, in September in Nashville.
The Certified Technician competition demonstrates the technological, systemic, and mechanical knowledge required to install and service today’s heating and cooling equipment. NATE describes the seven finalists as being “the best of the best,” having been chosen from more than 10,000 technicians who tested between May 31-June 30.

“NATE certification provides a standard for technicians to prove their knowledge,” says O’Neill.

Wilson Refrigeration & A/C Service Named a Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer

Wilson Refrigeration & A/C Service has earned its accreditation as a Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer.

“We’re proud that Wilson Refrigeration has achieved Factory Authorized Dealer status,” said Halsey Cook, president of Bryant Heating & Cooling. “Wilson Refrigeration’s reputation for excellent customer service precedes them in the Carolinas, and they’ve certainly been one of our top dealers in the United States for many years, so it’s no surprise they would be one of the first to qualify for this distinction.”

Jimmy Wilson began working in heating and air conditioning while in high school and discovered he enjoyed the challenges and problem solving skills the industry provided. “There’s a lot of satisfaction at the end of the day when you go home and know you really helped people be more comfortable and happy,” he explains. Over the next seven years, he worked his way to the top, founding his own company in 1987. Wilson Refrigeration has since grown to serve five counties, including Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry, Richland, and Saluda.

3 Member Dealers Receive Distinguished Award from GWD

General Wholesale Distributors announced three of its contractors as receiving the Distinguished Dealer Award. The three companies include: Carolina Heating Service of Greenville, Brown Heating Company of York and Pittman Heating & AC of Seneca. The award is given to independent Trane dealers who operate their business in a manner to advance their reputation as a retailer of quality air conditioning and heating systems. In order to be considered for this award, a dealership must complete a program over the course of a year in which the company receives recognition for promoting the Trane brand throughout the dealership.

All three companies are members of the South Carolina Association of Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors.

  Stationed in Iraq

Jack and Charles
----------------------------

Sept 2004 - Charles Edwards and Jack Gregory are two men we are proud to know and work with. Both are in the reserves and were called to duty the end of last year. They both have been in Iraq going on nine months and it appears they may be looking to stay in Iraq and open up another Gateway Supply branch. As you can see, they already have a delivery truck.

Charles works inside sales in our Hartsville, SC branch, and Jack is our branch manager from our Myrtle Beach, SC location. Everyone here at Gateway prays for them and their families and we look forward to their safe return. We also look forward to their active duty back with Gateway Supply. All of us here at Gateway are proud of them, as we are of all our men and women in the armed forces.

We ask you to remember Charles and Jack along with all of our service people in your prayers.

Thanks Don and Lee!

On May 18, 2004 Don Ellis of Ellis Heating & Air in
Conway, SC received a phone call regarding a customer who's
air conditioning system completely quit cooling. It was a very
hot day and Don visited the customer who had experienced
health and financial challenges. Don and his son, Lee, moved
very quickly, installed a 3 1/2 ton heat pump and expected
no more than an overwhelming thank you from the customer.
Don and Lee, we thank you for this charitable act.
Give these guys a big pat on the back next time you see them!
