The
South Carolina Association of Heating and Air Conditioning
Contractors (SCAHACC) will provide limited assistance
for South Carolina students who wish to pursue
a career in the heating and air conditioning industry. The
objective of the scholarship fund is to provide assistance
for formal education for the employees and/or family of contractor
members.
Scholarship
funds will be provided up to a maximum of $500 for tuition
and books. Funds will be paid to the institution for tuition
and books only. It is the student's responsibility to provide
SCAHACC with appropriate bills and documentation for payment.
No funds will be paid to the student directly.
The
SCAHACC Scholarship Committee will review all applications
and make recommendations to the Board of Directors. To remain
eligible, participating students must maintain an overall
grade point average of 2.5 and a grade point average of 3.0
in all major topics.
In
order to be eligible for this scholarship, students must provide
a written letter of recommendation from a contractor member
in good standing with SCAHACC.
The student must also be pursuing active employment in the
heating and air conditioning industry after graduation.
Requirements and/or qualifications
may be added or deleted by the SCAHACC Board of Directors
as they deem necessary. The scholarship is not granted for
more than one semester at a time; however, applicants are
encouraged to apply as often as they wish.
Once an application has been
received, it will remain on file and in contention until all
funds have been expended. Applicants will receive letters
of notification once his or her application has been either
declined or approved.
Students in degreed programs
will receive preference.
